Celebrity Wedding of the Year

Whose wedding proved to be more glamorous? More regal? More classic? More traditional? Whose wedding gets your overall best vote? Everyone has been talking about! Is it Prince William and Princess Catherine? Or, is it Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries?

A must-have for future brides and a great way to share with friends, family, and even strangers, that you are getting married! Kate Spade has created this adorable "I Do" gold necklace and I'm loving it! The best part...it's only $78.00! This would make a great gift for a future bride from her maids.

Paul McDonald & Nikki Reed Engaged!

I'm a huge fan of American Idol! One of my favorite contestants from this past season is Paul McDonald! He brought a Rod Stewart/Tom Petty vibe into the game for me. I just couldn't get enough of his raspy voice and bright white teeth!

I am, however, a little surprised to see that he is now engaged to his Twilight girlfriend, Nikki Reed, after only 2 months of dating.

Nikki showed her new shiny ring off at the MTV Movie Awards. I have to admit, the two seem as though they are genuinely in love with one another. I have to wish these two the best and a lifetime of happiness!

What do you think of quick engagements like Paul and Nikki's? Do you approve?

BLOOMBEADS - Turn Your Bouquet Into Jewelry

This is such a great idea!

Most brides keep their bridal bouquet,  but they never really do anything with it. Some brides may display the dried petals, but Bloombeads will take those petals and create unique, wearable jewelry.

This company designs handmade necklaces, bracelets, rings, cuff links, and much more. Many of the items can be personally engraved too! I learned of this company in my Wedding Planner Magazine and then went to the Bloombeads website. I really recommend checking it out!

I hope this inspires you to turn your bouquet into something you can cherish for many years to come! Be sure to share with your friends!

This is also a great idea for many other milestones!

Kim Kardashian Engaged!

I have to admit, I love Kim Kardashian! So, of course, I am thrilled to hear that she is now ENGAGED! Another fabulous wedding we will get to witness - or at least see pictures! Rumor has it that Kim and NBA player Kris Humphries will be tying the knot as soon as this summer!

And how about that ring?! A 16.5 carat, emerald cut center diamond worth an estimated $2 million that Humphries designed with jeweler Lorraine Schwartz! Wow!

Congratulations to the happy couple! And...HAPPY PLANNING!

Bridal Beauty Tips

With summer approaching, wedding season is stepping into high gear. With that, many brides are going to be asking themselves what they should be doing to prepare their minds and bodies for their special day. Here are a few tips that I would recommend!

Treat yourself to a facial! All eyes will be on you, so why not look your very best? Get rid of that dead skin! A facial will exfoliate and hydrate your skin making you glow!

Groom those eyebrows! It can be hard work trying to maintain a nice shape! Several months before your wedding, begin having a professional pluck and shape them. This will give you plenty of time to allow them to grow if needed because, lets face it, we've all over-plucked! By your wedding day, you will have well manicured brows!

Massage! Why not plan for a massage the week of your wedding? You've been busy planning for months and the big day is almost here! Take time for yourself and relax! You deserve it!

Exercise! I know...you've heard this before! Really though, it is a great way to relieve the stress that can be associated with planning a wedding. Take 30 minutes a day for yourself to exercise. Not only will you look amazing, physically, on your wedding day, you will also feel amazing mentally!

Drink lots of water! Stay hydrated with the right fluids!

Reduce your sodium intake! Try cutting salt from your diet a week before your wedding day. Trust me...you will notice a difference!

Wear SPF! You don't want to look like a lobster in your wedding gown. You certainly do not want peeling skin! Take care of your skin!

Mani Pedi! Indulge! Have a professional give you a manicure and pedicure. You'll be showing off your new bling so you'll want your fingernails to look their best! Even if your tootsies will not be making an appearance on your wedding day, they most likely will be making an appearance on your honeymoon! Don't leave them out!

Take care of your hair! Be sure to use the right shampoo, conditioner and product for your hair so that it will look its best on your wedding day. Try to avoid the flat iron and curling iron as much as possible so that you do not cause damage to your locks before the big day. I'm sure you can consult your hair stylist for tips on taking good care of your hairs!

Stay true to yourself! Don't stray from who you are and have always been just because it is your wedding day. A friend of mine told me that for my wedding and I think it's great advice and worth sharing! You want to look like YOU on your wedding day! And who you are is BEAUTIFUL!

Take care of yourselves!

The Importance of Videography

Long time, no blog!

I know I've neglected this for over 2 weeks. I have been so busy! My sister moved, family came into town, turning 30 and a wedding anniversary all in one week. Not to mention...life! I apologize to my Divine Brides!

Today, I celebrate my 2 year wedding anniversary with my amazing husband. I already know and appreciate all that he does for me and his constant support (because we all know life isn't easy without that one in our lives), but an anniversary really makes me appreciate it all that much more.

Since this past weekend has been consumed with celebrating our 30th birthday (meaning my twin and mine's), my husband and I are going to celebrate this upcoming weekend. We did, however, do appetizers and drinks this evening to toast to our 2 year anniversary. I've had plans for weeks to watch our wedding DVD on our anniversary. I could watch it everyday, but I don't. So, when the time came to watch it (anniversary evening)...the hubby said he wanted to finish watching a show on animal nightmares. Awful, I know! So, I took a trip to the basement...just the wedding DVD and I...and put it in the DVD player. I cared that Hubby wasn't with me, but honestly, I knew he'd be down within moments...and he was. I sat on the couch, with the biggest smile on my face, reliving the most memorable day of my life. My husband stood behind me with his hands on my head and shoulder - I knew he was smiling too!

While photography captures a single moment, and it may capture several moments throughout a single event, videography can capture so much more. The emotion that is captured is indescribable. I felt like I was reliving a beautiful event in my life watching it this evening with my husband. It brought back all of the feelings I experienced on my wedding day - the anxiety, anticipation, love and excitement.

To all of the brides out there wondering whether a videographer is worth the investment, I have one word for you.....ABSOLUTELY! I promise you, it will be worth every penny! As the years go by, unfortunately, our memories fade. A DVD will capture your event and enable you to revisit it at any point in time!

For fabulous videographers in the Columbus, Ohio and Louisville, Kentucky areas, message me! I'd be happy to share some wonderful companies with you!

XOXO

NYC Bridal Fashion Week

A lot of new trends hit the runway at New York Bridal Fashion week and while many of the gowns presented are way out the average bride's budget, they are still fabulous to look at and great for inspiration.

One of the trends that was apparent at this year's show was floral accents. Whether they appeared on waistbands, shoulder straps, skirts or the entire gown, they add something uniquely feminine to each of these gowns.

Blush colored wedding gowns were also seen on the runway and what bride doesn't love pink?

A personal favorite style that was seen are one shouldered gowns. Many brides choose to wear strapless gowns today, but wearing a one shouldered wedding gown still shows off a beautiful neckline while adding a touch of elegance that becomes a feature of the gown.

Also....black sashes are in!

While short wedding gowns may not be for the traditional bride, designers have created beautiful looks in many styles. These are great ideas for destination weddings!

I think all brides will be glad to know that ball gowns still rule the runway! It doesn't matter the fabric or accents, a bride will always look like a princess in these.

White by Vera Wang

With David's Bridal taking over a third of the sales and pricing in the wedding gown industry and the wedding gown business becoming over saturated with bridal boutiques, it is no wonder why designer Vera Wang has opted to join forces with this power house and also the largest wedding retailer in America.

Vera Wang has recently introduced her White Collection offered exclusively to brides's at David's Bridal. The designer describes her new collection as an expression of her years of experience dressing brides from around the world.  The collection currently consists of gowns, veils and accessories for the bride, but has hopes of expanding to bridesmaid dresses and shoes in the future. All of the gowns included in the White Collection are priced under $1500.00.

The bridal queen herself was recently a guest on Oprah and gave viewers a peek at her new line.

Every bride should have the opportunity to wear the wedding gown of her dreams and Vera Wang has made it that much more possible to do it in "Vera" style. The 12 gowns in the collection offer the authentic style of what the consumers know as Vera Wang Bridal to the bride using tulle swirl, antique embellishments and a horsehair sash and come in sizes 0-14. To view the details of each gown in the collection, go to David's Bridal.

What do you think of Vera Wang's White Collection? Please share in the comments!

Personally, I think these are all simply feminine, beautiful and what a wedding gown should be.....fairly tale like!

Thank you Vera Wang!

Divine Bride
