Reese Witherspoon - Married!

With so much focus on the Royal Wedding, Reese Witherspoon's wedding must have gone under the radar - at least somewhat! Reese Witherspoon wed her fiance, Jim Troth, this weekend at her home in Ojai, California. She walked down the aisle in a Monique Lhuillier gown and Jimmy Choo's "Macy" satin platform sandal (see photo below), which is part of the line's luxe bridal collection. To match her 4-carat engagement ring, the bride chose a wedding band from the same company called William Goldberg Diamond Company. I can't wait to see more photos from this star's wedding!

Spring Into Wedding Season

As the grass gets greener, the skies turn blue and the flowers begin to bloom, we now sense that Spring is really here...or at least right around the corner!

Planning a spring wedding can be difficult for some brides. Brides struggle with wedding colors, gown selection, and the formality of the wedding. Does a spring wedding have to be all about pastels? Should the wedding gown be light and flow? Can the reception have a formal vibe to it? I think the bride (and groom!) should plan the wedding of THEIR dreams regardless of the season!

Sure, light, pastel colors in the spring time are beautiful! We all love to be reminded of what a perfect time of year it is and bring out the colors that have been hidden all winter. Remember, though, there are so many ways to do this.  If you still like the idea of black bridesmaid dresses, try adding a splash of color in their shoes. A pale pink would be perfect! Hair accessories would be another unique way to add that splash of spring time color! And of course jewelry is a perfect accessory where color can be added!

If you want to keep things simple at the reception, try adding accents in spring hues with a white backdrop! There are SO many ways to do this - through flowers, favors, lighting and chair covers! Even try fruit! Enjoy these photos below for inspiration!

Painted Lady Dresses

I've been wanting to share this with others for some time, but didn't have an outlet to do so...until now! I first heard of Painted Lady Dresses on Facebook. A friend from college had something posted to her page about the company so I checked it out! These dresses are BEAUTIFUL for bridesmaids and can be worn to so many other occasions! What's even greater? They are convertible! You can wear these dresses in many ways that fit fabulously for all body types! With several styles and colors, your bridesmaids will surely fall in love! And although, in my opinion, they have a heavier price tag than other traditional bridesmaids dresses, they are worth the investment! You can purchase Painted Lady Dresses in Cleveland, Ohio and Chagrin Falls, Ohio as well as Brooklyn, New York - see stores on their website. It looks like an online store is coming soon!

Welcome Divine Brides!

Welcome to the Divine Bride blog! I am so excited to begin sharing creative ideas and inspiration to future brides and to the rest of us that just can't seem to get enough "wedding" in our lives! I hope that this blog will offer you ideas and advice to make your wedding the most memorable day of your life!
Let me tell you a little bit about me! I'm 29 years old and I live in Dublin, Ohio with my husband and our two kitties. I've been married for almost 2 years! I graduated from Bowling Green State University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. After spending some time in "Corporate America" and then contemplating  other careers, I began an event planning company in 2008 and have coordinated several weddings in Columbus, Ohio and Louisville, Kentucky. This is what I am passionate about! I have high hopes of one day owning a wedding boutique. In the meantime, I work full time in a medical office. I am really happy where I am today!
Please use this blog as a planning resource for yourselves and your friends! If there is something you would like to see on this blog, let me know and I'll see what I can do!
Thank you and enjoy!
