And the winner is.....HONEYSUCKLE!
Selected by Pantone LLC, they are the world renowned authority on color, a.k.a. the color know-it-all. The company is an international leader and trendsetter on color and has been around for more than 45 years.
Recently, Pantone announced that Honeysuckle is this year's Color of the Year for 2011. I thought with Spring upon us, now is a great time to introduce this to our divine brides.
Now, you may be asking yourself, "Why honeysuckle?" Leatrice Eiseman, executive director if the Pantone Color Institute, says, "In times of stress, people need something that will lift their spirits. Honeysuckle is a very energizing, dynamic, and engaging color that can't help but get the adrenaline going - a good color to ward off the 'blues!'"
This is such a great color for a spring or summer wedding! Brides love pink! This shade of pink brings more of a uniqueness, and freshness, to a wedding. You can use this color in flowers, bridesmaids dresses, even your aisle runner! It can be paired with SO many other colors as well. It would be beautiful to add another shade of pink (think pale pink) and/or gold element in the decor. Green, orange, or yellow all pair well with honeysuckle, as well as silver or purple. Even chocolate brown! If you are thinking of something more clean and simple, consider pairing it with white or ivory. A great suggestion that I have read about is after selecting your primary wedding color, look at color wheels or paint chips to get different ideas as to what colors pair well with your selected primary color. You can pick these up for free from the Home Depot or Lowes. It's a great way to find similar shades or to look for contrasting colors.
